
This small brand communication assessment, conducted in 2021, tasked us with utilizing food packaging as a metaphor to showcase our personalities as a brand. I chose ice cream as my metaphorical food item because it's a dessert I consistently enjoy, with a wide range of flavors to suit my mood at any given time. Ice cream resonates with my quiet personality due to its initial coldness, yet it offers diverse flavors just like my varied interests and characteristics.
The design of the box serves as a metaphor to express my personality traits. Being fond of Japanese culture, I incorporated Japanese comic-style illustrations as the foundation of the box design. This choice was inspired by my observations during shopping experiences at Don-Don-Donki, where I noticed the prevalent use of minimalist or cute illustrations on Japanese food packaging. Through this project, I aimed to showcase my digital illustration skills while paying homage to my appreciation for Japanese aesthetics.

Additionally, I infused my sense of humor into the design. Despite my quiet demeanor, I appreciate humor and enjoy engaging in light-hearted conversations with friends or browsing social media for memes, particularly those found on platforms like Facebook. To reflect this aspect of my personality, I incorporated a playful mini-story into the design: the torch of the Statue of Liberty National Monument being playfully replaced with ice cream cones, adorned with chill faces.
This narrative encapsulates the theme of "Quiet & Chill to Enjoy Life," emphasizing my simplistic approach to life. Regardless of the ups and downs, I believe in appreciating and savoring the present moment, finding joy in the simple pleasures life has to offer.
